I think the reason people react insulted when they find out you’re vegetarian is the same reason as when people find out you own a Mac: The loudest people in those groups are the pretentious fuckheads with their superiority complexes, which leads to others assuming that everyone that belongs to those groups must share the same attitude.
I’m not a vegetarian (love me some cooked animal parts) but I really admire your self-control/will power. Sticking to something for a year and a half, especially when it’s “on a whim” rather than for allergies/ideology, is incredible.
